The drummer of metal/rock band Thocke at work during a flatfeest (a party organised by one or more student dormitories) called Smurfenland. (Unfortunately my own band couldn’t play, since we were without a drummer at the time.)
This party is one of the main reasons I bought my flash gun — not only because the shutter times I had to use often were too long (even at high ISO settings, which my entry-level Four-Thirds DSLR doesn’t excel at), but also because my camera often struggled to focus in the low-light conditions (since it doesn’t have a built-in focus assist light). Furthermore, the built-in flash often didn’t have enough power, especially for subjects like this drummer, who’s very hard to capture on camera, because he’s usually moves all over the place while playing drums.
