Twice a year there’s a funfair in the Volkspark in Enschede, which is right behind my house. One afternoon in October, the sky was ashen grey, beautifully contrasting with the yellow leaves on trees — and with the ferris wheel, of which I took the photo on the left. Six months later, when the funfair was lit at night, I was reminded of that photo, and decided to mimic it and make this diptych. Considering I didn’t have the first photo handy as reference, I think it worked out quite well.
