When we got back to our lodge late one evening after our day trip to the Isle of Skye, the sky was exceptionally clear (we’d had clouds and rain for an entire week). So I decided to stay outside to have a go at photographing stars and star trails. I had to use a ridiculous ISO setting to keep the stars from ‘smearing’ (the foreground is taken from a longer exposure). I was lucky the Milky Way was right over our lodge! 🙂
The orange light on the clouds comes from Fort William, about 20km down the road.
