Lake Matheson is New Zealand’s most famous lake (apart maybe from Lake Taupo), because it is a so-called mirror lake (a (glacial) lake with a surface so smooth under low-wind conditions that it acts as an almost perfect mirror), that just so happens to be situated so that it reflects both of NZ’s highest peaks, Mt. Cook and Mt. Tasman. Technically, this scene is a bit difficult to capture. The snow-capped peaks and the clear blue sky are way brighter than the shadowy plants on the left.
