In 2008, I spent several days taking pictures during Twente University’s freshmen introduction period. New students are introduced to the university and each other by means of entertaining and challenging (and often photogenic) activities. One such activity was a kind of scavenger hunt through downtown Enschede. While I was photographing one group of students that were examining their instructions and clues, I accidentally released the shutter while rotating my camera, resulting in some circular motion blur, which I think nicely expresses the theme of that day, “Turbulence”.
